Resurrection/St. Mark's Parish Volunteers

Welcome parishioners from the Church of the Resurrection and St. Mark's Episcopal Anglican Church!

All parishioners are invited to join our team and collect food for our first annual Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive. Collected food will be donated to our parish pantry as well as donated to several inner city parishes who so desperately need food during the hot summer months.

It's a wonderful way to work together in the community.  All ages can help!  Here is how...

Each family can sign up (click here) and pick a territory on the website. You can be a leader of the territory and help organize your team or sign up as a helper on the team. More than one family can sign up for a territory and work together. We also need Collection Site volunteers which will be in the Resurrection parking lot on the day of the drive, July 18th.  There we will need helpers to take the food from the cars as the teams arrive with their collected food items!

Once you are signed up you will be emailed with detailed information on when to pick up your supplies, the weekend of July 11th.   Supplies will include bags, flyers, thank you note door hangers, and a map of your territory.  At home, bags and flyers need to be stapled and then distributed to the houses in your territory on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the drive (July 14th or 15th).  That Saturday, July 18th, teams gather in the morning at Church of the Resurrection for a brief prayer service and a blessing before teams go out and collect their filled bags in territories.

Helpful information:

  • Sign up your family on the website and pick a territory
  • Pick up supplies on Sat. July 11th at Resurrection (bags, flyers, thank you door hangers, a map of territory)
  • Go home and staple flyers to bags
  • Distribute one bag to each house in territory (Tues or Weds July 14th,15th)
  • Attend prayer service/blessing on Sat. July 18th 9am
  • Go and pick up filled bags and drop off at Resurrection right after prayer service Sat July 18th

Remember to count your cans and give total to Drop off Volunteer!  We want to keep track!

Thank you for your help with our first annual Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive!
