It's not just about the food!

The GGCFD Team wants to thank all 3000+ participants for a wildly successful 30th Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive!

As of Sunday, we have collected 173,520 canned goods from the 13 parish drives so far and we have one more to go this coming Saturday. Record breaking by over 21,000 cans, far exceeding our expectations. The weather was perfect Saturday and the joy of watching all of the people come to the centers bringing their canned goods and sharing their stories was amazing. Over 60 shelters, food pantries and local organizations received the fruits of your labor. One of our favorite parts is that food collected on Saturday goes directly from your bags to the tables of those in need.

Enjoy the Holidays and may the peace of the season be with all of you!

The Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive is a Catholic Charities affiliated outreach event held each year by parishes around the Archdiocese of Washington, DC.  Parish and school families and friends go out into their neighborhoods to collect nonperishable food items which support local food pantries and shelters. This family centered event is open to all parish communities and is designed to be an easy way for volunteers of any age to work together to serve their neighbors in need. The GGCFD is the only event of its kind and is the most direct way of addressing food insecurity in the area.
